AST recognizes that most companies have well-defined and active sales and project operations structures in place to serve known clients and expected or market-ready projects. AST's Concept & Market Development/Project Execution Planning assistance is not meant to replace or compete with such structures. Instead, AST offers a different service for an entirely different purpose. To our knowledge in fact, no other firm in the US offers this type of service.

AST's partners have unique competencies in the creation of innovative market and project opportunities that can define entirely new areas of practice for clients who wish to expand and diversify their base of operations. These individuals have created new programs and projects in both the private and public sectors, and have been recognized nationally for their contributions in this regard. Their work involves the blending of several disciplines, including creative market expression, detailed project planning, project execution analysis and problem-solving, funding and financial analysis, white paper preparation and presentation, and sole source project positioning with private and public entities. The AST team examines both the obvious and sometimes not-so-obvious market needs with a company's unique technical expertise, and can present these unique opportunities for executive-level review at a firm.

AST offers these unique services by either:

  • Introducing a concept project to a client, along with the analysis necessary for the company to make a logical pursuit decision. AST then proposes methods for securing contracts and/or niche market positions with this concept; or
  • Developing methods and processes for accomplishing a project that the client introduces or envisions, but cannot afford to develop using their already-booked, in-house resources. This approach can assist a client in "wiring" a project for the greatest win potential, or in reacting to sales and proposal situations either on a short fuse basis because of staffing availabilities or through a planned, strategic approach for a target endeavor.
AST offers these services on a limited basis to select clients. The client must allow AST the opportunity to thoroughly understand its reach in various markets and its full technical competencies for the process to work. When AST identifies new market concepts for a client and these are pursued, AST is generally paid upfront marketing costs on an hourly, daily, weekly rate or firm fixed price basis, as well as being rewarded on the back-end after selection by either success fees or deferred market billing. When the client rather than AST introduces the concept, AST is generally paid on a project basis.
