Assessment, Strategy & Tactics (AST) was designed to exclusively serve its client's business interests in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC)/Development/Finance and Information Technologies industries in the most economical way possible. Our fee schedule for services is based on a mutual agreement to reach a clients end goal, allowing for a variety of financial formulas fitting each individual situation and circumstance.

Employing skills gained in market conditions over the past 30 plus years, each member of our executive team enjoys a minimum of 25 years experience in their given industry. Clients range from the small or start-up firm to top 10 players in their field including numbers one, two or three.

Concept & Market Development

AST recognizes that most companies have well-defined and active sales and project operations structures in place to serve known clients. AST's concept and market development, execution planning is not meant to replace or compete with such structures. Instead, AST offers unique execution planning by either:

  • Developing wholly new concepts for particular projects or services that open new market and contract opportunities whereas, AST introduces a concept project and funding avenues to clients, then proposes methods for securing contracts and/or niche market positions; or
  • Developing methods and processes for accomplishing a project that the client envisions, but cannot afford to develop using their already-booked, in-house resources. This approach can assist a client in "wiring" a project for the greatest win potential, or in reacting to sales and proposal situations either on a short fuse basis because of staffing availabilities or through a planned, strategic approach for a target endeavor.

AST has opened new markets and secured sole-source contract opportunities for clients in both the public and private sectors for clients throughout the US and in several nations abroad.

Business Development Consulting

AST's business development practice is intended primarily to assist clients when internal sales groups are booked or critically important projects (those that can make or break a company's sales year) are in pursuit planning. Most clients prefer to employ the company for the "biggest, thorniest, ugliest" projects that stretch the typical company's sales and proposal strategy resources, and therefore employ AST's assistance on one or two endeavors per year. Services provided include:

  • Direct Sales Program Execution;
  • Intelligence Gathering;
  • Competitor Analysis;
  • Teaming Assistance;
  • Proposal Strategy;
  • Concept Development;
  • Proposal Preparation;
  • Orals Strategy & Preparation;
  • Red/Blue Team Representation; and/or
  • Contract Negotiations Assistance.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Whether to enter a new discipline or geographic-based markets, for value expansion, or for owner transition reasons, many owners at one point consider mergers or acquisitions as a method of expanding or gaining value from their businesses. AST has provided advice and counsel services to many owners, offering services ranging from characterization of buyer-desired factors to negotiation and closure assistance.

Human Capital

AST's human capital offerings are designed to assist clients in strengthening their executive management, technical operations, marketing & sales, or financial management capabilities. These consulting services include:

  • Staffing Utilization
  • Work Force Solutions
  • Training & Development
  • Key Growth Consulting
  • Key Position Successor Development

Our principal differentiator in these types of services is our total objectivity, proven through references that can be questioned on our successful performance. In all cases, we will employ a process of studying your needs, analyzing and benchmarking your case against other, known and successful players in the marketplace, then offering potential solutions.

We are also different in that our approach and fees for these services is based on a true "partnering" foundation. We offer services only to select clientele on a non-competition, non-conflict-of-interest basis, and arrive at negotiated, flat and standard fees that serve both the client's overall economic interests and ours.
